Dennis and Ethel Stevens, McLouth, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Perry Community Building, 604 Front St. in Perry.
Dennis Stevens and Ethel Hay were married March 11, 1960, at Dennis’ mother’s home in Lawrence.
Dennis graduated from McLouth High School in 1956. He worked at The Lawrence Paper Company from 1956 to 1976. He was then employed at Packer Plastics from 1976 until he retired in 2002.
Ethel graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1960. She was a homemaker until her children entered school. She then was employed at Packer Plastics from 1973 until she retired in 2008 with 35 years perfect attendance.
They have a son, Rodney, of McLouth; two daughters, Denise Stevens, Lecompton, Penny Illig, Perry; and three grandchildren, Grace Illig, and Jeff Ladd II, Lecompton, and Catie Illig, Perry. Their oldest son, Michael, died in 2007.
