The First Congregational Church of Tonganoxie basement will be transformed into a coffee shop.
Starting at 7 p.m. Friday at the church, 303 E. Fourth St.
And to purchase food and drinks, people will need to pay with — non-perishable food items. Proceeds from the food drive will go to the Good Shepherd Thrift Store and Food Bank.
“We’ll have finger sandwiches and what-not,” said Rev. Jamie Bonnema.
Various coffees will be served and Mendy Faherty, who sings Christian and gospel music, will perform. Faherty is preparing to cut an album, Bonnema said.
“We’d like to open it up to anyone who would want to come and hang out, listen to music and chat,” Bonnema said.
