"Kansas History Through Architecture"

Take a new look at Kansas history through the untold stories of the states historic buildings and the intriguing people who built them. How did past economic cycles affect construction? How did the cultural heritage of town founders influence community planning and development? Christy Davis is a fifth-generation Kansan who had dedicated her career to helping communities identify and preserve their architectural heritage, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tonganoxie Community Historic Site, 201 W. Washington, Tonganoxie. The presentation will explore new ways of appreciating and preserving our state’s architectural heritage. David has appeared on KTWU series “Sunflower Journeys” and “Wood, Brick and Stone”. The presentation is part of the historical society’s monthly meeting, which is free and open to the public.
