A 16-year-old Tonganoxie youth reported criminal damage to a car door, which occurred on Dec. 3 in the 500 block of East Fourth Street.
A 43-year-old Tonganoxie man reported theft of rear end housings for a Ford truck, valued at $150. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and noon Dec. 3 in the 700 block of East Fourth Street.
A 23-year-old Tonganoxie woman reported that an acquaintance threatened her at about 3 p.m. Dec. 4 at the woman's home.
A two-vehicle accident occurred about 8:50 p.m. Dec. 3 at the intersection of Fourth Street and U.S. Highway 24-40. No one was injured. According to police reports, a 1992 Ford Explorer driven by Deaven Workman, 18, Tonganoxie, was attempting a left turn east onto Fourth Street when it collided with a 1990 Pontiac Sunbird driven by Laura Middleton, 28, Leavenworth.
Smoke filled Casey's General Store, U.S. 24-40 Highway and Fourth Street, at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters cleared smoke from the building. Officials said the cause apparently was related to a malfunction in the furnace.
Leavenworth County Sheriff
A 17-year-old Leavenworth youth was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon at the University of Kansas Medical Center following a one-car accident Monday morning. Trevor Messinger, 17, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Steve Perrin, 17, Leavenworth, when the accident occurred. The vehicle was headed north on Leavenworth County Road 5 when Perrin lost control of the vehicle. It went across the southbound lane and hit a driveway entrance. It turned end over end, landed on its top and skidded off the road into a ditch. Messinger was ejected from the vehicle.
The accident occurred a quarter-mile south of 199th Street.
A LifeStar helicopter transferred Messinger to the medical center. Perrin was taken to St. John Hospital by Leavenworth County EMS and was treated and released.
The vehicle was a total loss, Deputy Bob Smith of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department reported. The sheriff's department and Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the accident.
Robert Hudson, 52, Tonganoxie, struck and killed a small deer last Friday as he was travelling west on Parallel Road. Deputy Doug Rollison of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department said the incident occurred four-tenths of a mile west of 211th Street on Parallel Road.
Steven Leonard, 21, Tonganoxie, hit and killed a deer last Friday while driving south on County Road 27. Leonard hit the deer about three-tenths of a mile south of Leavenworth County Road 4 on Leavenworth County Road 27.
