A 17-year-old Leavenworth youth injured in an accident last week was in stable condition Tuesday in the Intensive Care Unit of the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Trevor Messinger, 17, was a passenger in a vehicle drive by Steve Perrin, 17, also of Leavenworth, when the accident occurred Dec. 6 on Leavenworth County Road 5, about a quarter-mile south of 199th Street. Perrin was treated and released from St. John Hospital.
A 23-year-old Tonganoxie woman reported that an automobile parked at her residence in the 1200 block of Ridge Circle was damaged by an acquaintance between 3:10 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. Dec. 8.
A 33-year-old construction worker living at the Sunset Inn reported the theft of $1,100. There was no sign of forced entry, police reports said.
A 23-year-old Tonganoxie man reported that an automobile parked at his residence in the 1200 block of Ridge Circle was damaged between 8 p.m. Dec. 7 and 10 a.m. Dec. 8.
A palm tree and a sign at Glen's Opry, 707 E. Fourth, were damaged Thursday night. Police are investigating the incident.
Leavenworth County sheriff
A number of mailboxes were damaged between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday in extreme northeast Leavenworth County. Various mailboxes were struck with a round object, according to Deputy Robert Smith of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Department. The vandalism occurred on Melwood Road, U.S. Highway 73 and Santa Fe Trail.
