Craig DeVere Plum1944-1999
Craig DeVere Plum 55, DeSoto, Kan., died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999 at home. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct . 21 at the DeSoto Baptist Church, 9655 Church St., DeSoto. A memorial service will follow.
Plum was born in Clinton, Iowa, on Feb. 14, 1944, and had lived in DeSoto 51 years. He owned and operated Plum's Produce of DeSoto and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Leroy Plum in 1969. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann (Ehart) Plum, of the home; two sons, Scott DeVere Plum, Mission, Kan. and Jon Walker Plum, of the home; one daughter, Kristin Lynn Peterson and son-in law, Kirt Peterson, also of DeSoto; his mother, Ruby Pritchard, DeSoto, five brothers: Bill Plum, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; Jim Walker, Hannibal, Mo.; Terry Plum, Basehor, Kan.; Darrel Pontius, Orange County, Calif.; and Steve Pontius, Canon City, Colo,; five sisters: Donna Wheeler, Mission Hills, Calif.; Joy Swisher, Linwood, Kan.; Cheryl Worrell, Eudora, Kan.; Candy Sipe, DeSoto, and Nancy Warsop, DeSoto. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Ty and Taylor Peterson, DeSoto, and Austin Plum, Shawnee,; along with several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society. (Arrangements and cremation prior to service: Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
