Gloria Irene Steineger1934-1999
Gloria Irene Steineger, 65, of Kansas City, Kan., died October 25, 1999, at the Presbyterian Manor. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church. Family suggests contributions to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or Providence Manor.
Mrs. Steineger was born Oct. 1, 1934, and was a lifelong Kansas City, Kan., resident. She worked as head of data processing for Russell Stover Candies for 20 years, before retiring in 1993. Gloria was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was one of the founders of Southern Wyandotte County Softball Association.
Gloria was a past president of PTA's in Turner and past president of Wyandotte County Council of PTA. Gloria was very proud of representing Kansas City, Kan., with her husband Joe as the first lady of Kansas City, Kan., during her husband's administration.
Survivors include husband, Joseph E. Steineger, Jr., of the home; two sons, Joseph E. Steineger, 111, Jacksonville, III., and David Matt Steineger, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Kathie Faye Steineger, Lenexa, Kan., and Christy Haycraft, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister & brother-in-law, Carole and Charles Larimore, Tonganoxie, Kan.; Six grandchildren, Joseph E. Steineger, IV, Willie Steineger, Ben Steineger, Matt Steineger, Grace Steineger, Kelee Alvarado; and a great-grandson, Dominick Steineger.
