Graveside services for Charles F. "Buck" Ellis, 64, Tonganoxie, were Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at the Lawrence Cemetery in Hume, Mo.
Mr. Ellis died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Mr. Ellis, formerly of Hume, Mo., and Keytesville, Mo., was born Oct. 17, 1935, at Keytesville, Mo., the son of Saint Patrick and Martha Lloyd Ellis.
He was a construction worker with Muehlberger Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister who died in infancy and four granchildren, David and Tanya Cathey, and Natalie and Nicholas Ellis.
Survivors include five sons, Ted Ellis, Kansas City, Mo., Aaron Ellis, Hume, Mo., Steven Ellis, Rich Hill, Mo., Richard Ellis, Tonganoxie, and Terry Ellis, Kansas City, Mo.; seven daughters, Marchelle Ellis, Olathe, Lucinda Ellis, Fort Scott, Theresa Ellis, Manhattan, Heidi Byfield, Kansas City, Mo., Cathy Hall, Mapleton, Kan., Melissa Ellis, Fort Scott, and Jody Snowberger, St. George, Kan.; three brothers, Jimmie Ellis, Gladstone, Mo., Raymond Ellis, Kansas City, Mo., and John Ellis, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; four sisters, Patsy Gill, Independence, Mo., Julia Turner, Kansas City, Mo., Shirley Asbell, Kansas City, Mo., and Janette Evans, Gladstone, Mo.; and 32 grandchildren.
Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Hume, Mo., handled arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Charles Ellis Memorial Fund, in care of Richard Ellis, 24211 Sandusky Rd., Tonganoxie.
