Leavenworth County Sheriff
A vehicle driven by Elizabeth Crank, 35, Tonganoxie, was traveling north on Leavenworth County Road 1, 1/10 of a mile north of the Kansas Turnpike, about 6:45 a.m. last Wednesday when she tried to reach something on the floor of her vehicle. The vehicle went off the road to the right. When it returned to the road she lost control and it went off the road on the other side and overturned. Crank was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released. Her vehicle was a total loss, sheriff's reports said.
A vehicle driven by Francis Nolting, 71, Nortonville, was traveling south through the intersection of U.S. Highway 73 and Kansas Highway 192 about 4:15 p.m. Friday when it collided with a vehicle driven by Valerie Bowen, 45, Atchison. Nolting said she did not see Bowen approaching. Bowen was taken to St. John Hospital by EMS and released. No estimated damages were available, sheriff's reports said.
A vehicle driven by James Hartshorn, 15, Tonganoxie, was traveling east on County Road 4, 1/2 mile west of 238th Street, when he swerved to miss a deer about 8 a.m. Saturday. Hartshorn's vehicle slid off the road into a ditch and rolled over. The vehicle was totaled. There were no injuries, sheriff's reports said.
A vehicle driven by Willis Ray, 50, DeSoto, was traveling north on County Road 1 about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at the intersection of County Road 1 and Kansas Highway 32. Ray's vehicle was hit by a vehicle driven by John Long, 61, DeSoto, who was traveling west on Kansas Highway 32. Damages were unknown. Ray was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
