Road conditions now available on-line

The Kansas Department of Transportation now has an Internet page devoted to road conditions in the state.

The page address is www.kanroad.org and also can be accessed through KDOT's main Web site: www.ksdot.org under "road conditions."

The site, which includes a map, will show travelers if a road is closed, icy, snow-packed, wet or normal for seasonal conditions. Users can view the primary routes in the state or choose a specific region.

The map is based on information provided by KDOT crews in the field, but travelers are reminded that weather conditions in Kansas can change rapidly, so KDOT cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information. Travelers are advised to refer to other sources, such as local weather reports.

Travelers without access to the Internet may call a toll-free Road Condition Hot Line, (800) 585-7623. The Kansas Highway Patrol updates weather conditions as needed for that number.
