A vehicle driven by Nicole Breshears, 16, Tonganoxie, struck a vehicle driven by Steven Skeet, 21, Tonganoxie, while Skeet was pulling into a parking place at Tonganoxie High School at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to police reports. Breshears was trying to turn her vehicle but slid on some snow running into Skeet's vehicle. The front end of Breshears' vehicle went under the side of Skeet's vehicle.
A vehicle driven by Frank LaPlaca, 52, Tonganoxie, was traveling east on Sixth Street when it slid off the road into a fence at Sixth and Delaware, according to police reports. The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
An 85-year-old woman reported to police that a ring band worth $5,000 was stolen between 11:30 a.m. Jan. 23 and 9 a.m. Jan. 29.
A vehicle driven by Jeneta Ellis, 19, Tonganoxie, was backing out of a driveway when it hit the left front bumper and fender of a parked car owned by Brian Lynne, police reports said. The accident occurred at 8:45 a.m. Thursday on Third Street near Church.
A vehicle driven by Jared Walters, 18, Tonganoxie, was traveling south on Shawnee Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by Robert Kasper, 81, Tonganoxie, as Kasper pulled out of an alley onto Shawnee, police reports said. The accident occurred at 1 p.m. Thursday. Kasper's vehicle hit the left door of Walters' vehicle.
Leavenworth County Sheriff
A 19-year-old rural Tonganoxie man reported that his brother stole his vehicle and $170 while the man was sleeping about 12:45 a.m. Thursday. The loss was estimated on sheriff's reports at $8,070.
A fire reported at 3:45 a.m. Friday in the basement of a home at 412 Park in Linwood was contained to a pile of rags and trash, according to sheriff's reports. No injuries were reported, and damage was limited primarily to smoke.
A vehicle driven by Lorraine Fullington, 42, Tonganoxie, and a vehicle driven by Shane Karr, 20, Tonganoxie, collided when the two vehicles tried to drive through an icy turn in opposite directions at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, according to sheriff's reports. The accident occurred at 223rd Street and Leavenworth Road. The estimated damages were over $500. Fullington complained of aching in her arm.
Terri Cummings, 45, Tonganoxie, was traveling south on U.S. 24-40 Highway when her vehicle hit a deer ran at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Cummings was not injured.
