Korb named to All-tourney team for play in DeSoto
Andrea Korb, pictured above playing defense against Immaculata, was one of all-tournament team members at the DeSoto Tournament.
Tonganoxie placed fifth, beating Wyandotte and DeSoto after losing to Free State in the first round.
Korb has played with consistency in recent games, taking better shots, grabbing offensive rebounds and dishing out assists.
Korb had 10 assists, five steals, eight rebounds and eight points against Wyandotte.
Free basketball game
OK, it's not free for everyone, but children who attended the basketball clinic at the high school in December received a certificate for free admission to Friday night's Tonganoxie High School basketball games.
The children and their parents can attend the games for free if they present the certificate at the entrance.
Families that have lost their certificate can get another one by contacting Coach David Walker at the high school, 845-2654.
Michelle Hubler will hold a hitting clinic for 7- to 18-year-old boys and girls from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in McLouth.
Hubler was an All Big 12 shortstop at the University of Kansas. She plays for the Tampa Bay Firestix in the Women's Professional Softball League.
Registration is $30, and participation is limited to 40 players.
To register, call Donna Lawson, McLouth, (913) 796-6713.
The clinic is a fund-raiser sponsored by the McLouth Booster Club.
