Father and son duo join real estate office
Two members of the family that owned and operated The Mirror for more than eight years are teaming up to sell real estate.
Don Waterman and his son, Brian, haved joined Re/Max All American, at 14500 Parallel in Basehor.
"We're starting what we're calling the Waterman Team," Brian Waterman said. "My sister and my wife are helping us."
The Water-mans sold The Mirror in early September 1999. Since then, Brian Waterman has worked in advertising, and Don Waterman has worked in real estate.
"We know the area real well and feel that will be helpful to buyers and sellers," Brian Waterman said. "We've got a pretty good idea of what's going on in the area."
Both Brian and Don Waterman are familiar with real estate. Brian Waterman sold real estate during the time span that the family owned The Mirror. He also is an auctioneer who has worked real estate auctions.
Don Waterman has been licensed for a number of years, and sold real estate fulltime in 1990 and 1991.
"Things were just tougher than the dickens then," he said. "We think we've got a good system that we're going to work with."
The growth potential in this area certainly was attractive to the father-and-son team.
"Southern Leavenworth County's growth is not going to stop," Don Waterman said. "We think we're in a pretty good location because we're fairly close to the metro area here in Basehor."
