The future bride graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1995. She earned a degree in 1999 from the University of Kansas in East Asian languages and cultures. She is seeking a secondary teaching certificate at Missouri Western State College.
The future groom is the son of Chris and Paula Carlson, McLouth. He graduated in 1991 from McLouth High School. He earned a degree in business administration in 1995 from Emporia State University. He works for American Intelligent Networks Inc.
The couple plan a July 6, 2001, wedding at St. Francis Xavier Church in St. Joseph.
Joe and Regina Stanley, Oberlin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Renee Stanley, to Andrew Francis Hurla, the son of Francis and Mary K. Hurla, Tonganoxie.
The future bride is a 1997 graduate of Decatur Community High School and will graduate this May from Fort Hays State University with a degree in business education.
The future groom is a 1993 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and 1999 graduate of Fort Hays State University with degrees in physical education (athletic training) and general science. He will graduate this May from Fort Hays State University with a master's degree in sports administration. He is employed by the FHSU athletic department as a certified athletic trainer.
The couple plan a Dec. 30, 2000, wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin.
