Area winners announced from Kansas State Fair

Following are area results from judging at the 2000 Kansas State Fair:


Matt Theis, Leavenworth: first in junior heifer calves born March 1; reserve champion, senior heifer calf champion.

Megan Theis, Leavenworth: first and third in junior heifer calves born Jan. 1; grand champion, junior heifer calf.


Kathryn Hoppis, Tonganoxie, first, breeding stock stallions.


Gail Craun, Basehor: two seconds, aged all geldings; first and third, senior western pleasure; first and second, open trail; third, youth gelding; first, youth showmanship, 13 and under; third, youth showmanship, 14 to 18; second, youth trail; first and third, western pleasure 13 and under; first, amateur western horsemanship; second, amateur western pleasure; first, amateur trail; first, amateur showmanship; reserve champion gelding.

Maggie Gratny, Leavenworth: second and third, youth showmanship, 13 and under; third, youth showmanship, 14-18; third and first, hunter under saddle, all ages; first and second, youth hunger under saddle.

Darrell Oldham, Leavenworth: second, stallion foal; first, 2-year-old stallions; reserve grand champion stallion.
