Services for Marvin Throop, 93, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mr. Throop died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center. He was born Sept. 22, 1907, in Jarbalo, the son of Ray and Mae (North) Throop. He was a retired tool and die maker, working at the B.O.P. Plant (General Motors) during World War II and for Bensen Company in Kansas City, Kan., in later years.

He married Jewel Marie Bane on July 7, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo. She died May 22, 1994.

Survivors include his son, James M. Throop, Elizabeth, Colo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
