Still no tips on missing man
Leavenworth County sheriff`s officers continue to investigate last month`s disappearance of a 73-year-old man.
But the job`s become increasingly difficult.
"I haven`t had any calls, any tips for awhile," said Leavenworth County sheriff`s detective Ron Ewert. "We haven`t a clue where he went or what happened to him."
Ewert and other officers have checked out a number of calls since John Brezgiel disappeared Sept. 20. And Brezgiel`s family and friends have scoured Leavenworth County and traveled into Missouri, in hopes of finding him.
Brezgiel, who has lived near Jarbalo for the past 30 years, last was seen at Leavenworth Plaza shopping center.
Recently, because of the effects of Parkinson`s disease, his mental and physical health have been failing, according to his wife, Scotty. He takes medication to ease the physical effects and other medication to help alleviate the hallucinations that have plagued him in recent months. Without medication, his wife has said, he likely would become disoriented.
He likely was driving a four-door 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra that`s silver-blue in color. The Kansas license plate is HRU 068.
Brezgiel is about 5-foot-8 and weighs about 130 pounds. He is balding, with blond hair and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing brown frame glasses, a white Kmart ball cap, khaki trousers, a black short-sleeved polo shirt, white tennis shoes and a tan jacket.
