Services for Robert Eugene Theno, 76, Basehor, were Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at First Baptist Church of Bethel in Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Theno died last Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and had been a farmer for many years. He had been active in the Wyandotte and Leavenworth county extension service. He was a member of the Wyandotte County Fair Board. He also had been a 4-H leader for more than 38 years. He was a member of the Haven Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan., where he had served as a deacon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Basehor VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Theno, of the home; a son, Mel Theno, Basehor; and a sister, Margaret Been, Gardner.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Haven Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan., or the Basehor Historical Museum, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs.
