See You at the Pole set next Wednesday
The annual See You at the Pole is planned for next Wednesday morning.
During the three ceremonies in Tonganoxie, people will gather at flag poles for prayer. A gathering for adults is scheduled for 7 a.m. at VFW Park. A student-led ceremony for junior high and high school students will be at 7:15 a.m. outside the Tonganoxie district offices, and another student-led ceremony will be held at 7:35 a.m. outside Tonganoxie Elementary School.
Variety of classes offered at the Y
The Women's Community Y of Leavenworth is offering several classes.
Beginner I Sign Language class taught by Darla Woods will be offered through the Women's Community Y of Leavenworth starting next Tuesday. The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and run for four weeks. The class will be held at Warren Middle School.
Hatha Yoga classes, both beginning and intermediate, will begin next Tuesday at the Women's Community Y of Leavenworth. The classes will meet for eight sessions at 520 S. Broadway. Beginners will meet form 7 to 8 p.m. and the intermediate class is from 8 to 9 p.m. Participants should dress in non binding clothing and bring a towel, mat or small rug to lie on.

Reunion planned Sunday in Oskaloosa
On Sunday, the 39th annual reunion of the descendants of William and Rebecca Brown and Rev. Miner Daniels and his wife, Sarah, will be held in the American Legion Hall in Oskaloosa.
A potluck dinner will be held at 12:30 p.m. with bread, beverages and table service furnished.
Rebecca Brown and Sarah Daniels were sisters who started from Pennsylvania and Ohio and with their husbands traveled west, stopping for awhile in Indiana. Then they moved on the western Missouri. In 1860, they left Clinton County and moved to eastern Kansas. The Daniels stopped to make their home in McLouth, and the Browns settled in rural Oskaloosa.

Local Scout groups seeking members
Local Girl Scout and Cub Scout groups are looking for new members.
Cub Scout Park 3075 is looking for boys who like to camp, hike, learn new skills and have fun. Cub Scouting is for boys, age 7-11, who are in the first through the fifth grades.
Pack 3075 invites all interested boys and their families to the Fall Recruitment Roundup at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at the VFW Park.
There will be games, contests and refreshments. Boys will have the opportunity to sign up for Scouting. "The Cub Scouts of Pack 3075 are eager to show your son how much fun scouting can be," David Higbee, Clubmaster, said.
In addition, any girl who is in kindergarten through 12th grade is invited to join Girl Scouts.
