A vehicle driven by a 14-year-old Tonganoxie boy attempted to switch lanes near Kansas Highway 16 and U.S. Highway 24-40, when he hit a vehicle driven by Baneta Mailand, 61, McLouth, about 10 p.m. Saturday. Several citations were issued. Damages were minor and there were no injuries.
Leavenworth County Sheriff
A vehicle driven by Stephen Parrin, 18, Leavenworth, was traveling on County Road 5, near Donahoo Road, about 1 p.m. Sept. 11, when his vehicle left the roadway. Parrin said his vehicle veered off the road to the left. He got it back on the road but overcorrected and went off the road to the east. Damages were unknown and he was not injured.
A vehicle driven by Daniel Pretz stopped for another vehicle on Kansas Highway 92, 1/3 mile east of County Road 33, about 7 p.m. Saturday. A vehicle driven by Joshua Goetting, 16, Leavenworth, rear-ended Pretz's vehicle resulting in less than $500 damage. There were no injuries.
A vehicle driven by Sean McManus, 26, Basehor, was traveling west on Kansas Highway 32, near 174th Street, about 11 a.m. Friday, when the trailer attached started fishtailing. McManus was unable to stabilize the vehicle and slid off the north side of the road into the ditch. Estimated damages were unknown. McManus was not injured.
A vehicle driven by Luanne Kietzmann, 53, Tonganoxie, was traveling east on County Road 4, near 238th Street, about 8 p.m. Friday, when a deer ran out and struck the driver's side of the vehicle. About $2,100 damage was incurred and the deer ran off.
