Maxine "Deannie" Laming
Services for Maxine "Deannie" Laming, 76, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Resurrection United Methodist Church, 13720 Roe, Leawood.
Mrs. Laming died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the home of her son in Leawood. She was born March 26, 1925, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of Oscar and Lila (Ousdahl) Botts. She had worked as an operator for the Suburban Telephone Co., in Tonganoxie, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening as a hobby, and she had been a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Plymouth Guild, Chapter AT of P.E.O. and the Reading Club in Tonganoxie.
She had served as a school board member for Unified School District 464, Tonganoxie.
On June 15, 1946, she married Thomas C. Laming in Tonganoxie.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Thomas W. Laming, Leawood; a daughter, Linda Laming, Overland Park; a brother, Jean Botts, Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Dwyer, Lawrence, Betty George, Independence, Mo., and Marie Hubbard, Hutchinson; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, where a service of remembrance will be held at 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Church of the Resurrection Memorial Garden, in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.
