Lucile Agnes Knapp
Services for Lucile Agnes Knapp, 74, Tonganoxie, were Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie, with the Rev. Mark Goldasich officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mrs. Knapp died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at her home. She was born March 13, 1927, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Leitel) Kleinfehn.
She was a retired registered nurse and a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society and was a volunteer at Good Shepherd Thrift Shop, all in Tonganoxie.
She married Robert E. Knapp on April 28, 1951, at Camp Rucker, Ala. They moved to Tonganoxie in 1973 from Junction City.
A son, Richard W. Knapp, died on Oct. 30, 1986.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; four sons, Walter, Topeka, Robert, San Diego, John, Houston, and James, Emporia; eight daughters, Mary Knapp and Regina Davis, both of Manhattan, Kan., Margaret Knapp, Cincinnati, Kathleen Stockman and Donna Somers, both of Tonganoxie, Martha Palmer, Topeka, Karen Bearden, Fort Eustis, Va., and Laura McLaughlin, Riley; a brother, the Rev. Walter Kleinfehn, Norway, Iowa; a sister, Kathleen Riley, New Hampton, Iowa; and 18 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church building fund or to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, 66086.
