Speedway, Goodcents agree to partnership

Mr. Goodcents will sponsor the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division race at Kansas Speedway for the next three years, Kansas Speedway officials announced Monday.

Its first race will be the Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway on Sept. 29.

"We are excited to have a company like Mr. Goodcents pair with us during our historic, sold-out inaugural season and for the next few years," track Vice President and General Manager Jeff Boerger said.

The Lenexa-based restaurant franchise has more than 120 restaurants in 13 states nationwide, including one in Tonganoxie. Started in 1988 by Joseph Bisogno, Mr. Goodcents Inc. is one of Kansas City's most successful small businesses.

The Mr. Goodcents 300 on Sept. 29 will kick off a fall racing weekend. The next day, the NASCAR Winston Cup Series comes to Kansas City, Kan., with the Kansas 400.

Tickets for the races are sold out, but qualifying and practice tickets for Sept. 27 and 28 can be purchased online at or by telephone at (913) 328-RACE.
