A vehicle driven by Sarah Fugate, 16, Tonganoxie, caused a three-car accident about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 24-40 and Sixth Street. Vehicles owned by Keri Owens, 27, Tonganoxie, and Jimmy Walker, 17, Tonganoxie, stopped for a car that was turning, but Fugate failed to see this and hit Owens' vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles. Fugate's passenger, Katie Wood, 15, Tonganoxie, was injured and taken to Providence Medical Center where she was treated and released. Walker's car was not damaged.
A vehicle driven by Willie Altman, 17, Tonganoxie, attempted to turn from Main Street onto First Street about 8 a.m. Friday. While the vehicle was turning, it clipped the front end of a vehicle driven by Bill Lowe, 52, Kansas City, Kan.

Linda Ottens, 39, Tonganoxie, was driving north on 222nd Street, north of Metro Road, about 6:30 a.m. Sunday when her vehicle hit a deer. The accident caused an estimated $800 worth of damage to the front of the vehicle.
Courtney Hunt, 23, Bonner Springs, was driving south on 155th Street, south of Fairmont Road, about 2 a.m. Sunday when her vehicle left the road and vaulted over a culvert. The vehicle then hit an embankment and overturned. Hunt was taken to St. John Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released. The vehicle was a total loss.
