THS to have mini-cheer camp

The Tonganoxie Cheering Squad will conduct a mini-camp from 8:30 a.m. to noon July 30 and July 31.

Enrollment will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. July 16 in the high school gym. Enrollment is $25 per child and is open to children from 3 years of age through sixth grade.

Clinic returns in August

The fifth annual KC Wizards/KCKCC Soccer Clinic will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. The camp will feature select Wizard players, including Mo Johnston. The clinic will be at Chieftain Park and the cost is $20 for both nights, or $15 for one night. Family rate is $30 for two participants or $50 for three. The clinic is open to players ages 5 through 18.

Deadlines coming up

The Tonganoxie Recreation Commission is taking registrations for 4-on-4 volleyball, 3-on-3 basketball and singles tennis. Registration deadline is July 11. Cost is $40 per team.

Baseball camp offered

The Mickey Owen Baseball School is conducting a baseball instructional camp July 16 through July 20 at Ameila Earhart Fields in Atchison.

The camp, which is open to players ages 7-14, has three sessions daily. The all-day program is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and costs $125. The second package is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. daily ($100), and the third session is 9 a.m. to noon each day ($75).

Pre-registration is required and a free Mickey Owen embroidered cap and T-shirt are included if the registration fee is postmarked by the deadline date of July 7.
