Services for Clarence Corkadel were Friday, May 18, 2001, at Northland Christian Church, Topeka. Burial with military honors conducted by Philip Billart Post No. 1650, Veterans of Foreign Wars, was in the Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls.

Mr. Corkadel, 90, died May 15, 2001, at Presbyterian Manor, Topeka. He was born March 18, 1911, in Valley Falls, the son of Perry W. and Cora May (Conser) Corkadel. He had been a resident of Topeka since 1945.

Mr. Corkadel served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of the VFW. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 38 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a member of Northland Christian Church. He also was a member of several senior bowling leagues. After retiring, he worked at the Alco store in north Topeka.

He married Emily H. Neel on Dec. 7, 1945, in Atchison. Survivors include his wife of the home, two sisters-in-law, Doris Shockley, Tonganoxie and Mildred Fritz, Hartford, Kan.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Northland Christian Church, 3102 NW Topeka Ave., Topeka, 66617-1192.
