Aunt Norie’s Sewing Room

By Eleanor Mckee - | Nov 7, 2001

“Just when they get all broken in easy and comfortable to wear, she thinks they need to be thrown away.” He was talking about his jeans.

“I know but they look so worn and faded, with the little fringe showing on the cuffs.”

Quite a fun discussion followed. All agreed that in the very beginning new jeans are so stiff. Many guys wash them several times just to soften them up before even trying to wear them.

Then came stone-washed jeans. All agreed they were half-worn out when they were purchased. There was no discount on the price, though, but of course they were very soft and comfortable.

His grandma patches his for him.

“She says it’s easy, you don’t even need to be a good sewer,” he said. “I’m going to buy my wife (us with a big grin) a sewing machine and let grandma teach us both how to patch them.”

God bless us all. Aunt Norie, P.O. Box 265, Tonganoxie, 66086-0265.
