Radiologist to speak to support group
Dr. Doug Mathis, a radiologist at Munson Community Health Center at Fort Leavenworth, will speak Monday to the Leavenworth County Breast Cancer Support Group.
The meeting will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tonganoxie Library, 305 Bury.

Recycling drop-off set Saturday morning
Beginning this Saturday, the Tonganoxie Recycling Center at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds will be open only the second Saturday of every month.
The hours will continue to be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
This Saturday, students in Karen Stephenson's fourth-grade class will volunteer at the drop-off.

Hepatitis B vaccine available for children
The special free Hepatitis B vaccine campaign for 10- to 17-year-olds will end Sept. 28.
Until that date, vaccines will be given free of charge by the Leavenworth County Health Department from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 500 Eisenhower Rd., Suite 101, Leavenworth.
The requirement is three shots, with one month between the first and second shots, and five months between the second and third shots.
After Sept. 28, a $10 per shot fee is required.

Because of incorrect information supplied to The Mirror, a listing of Leavenworth County Fair results contained an error.
Josh VanTuyl of the Basehor Rustlers 4-H Club was Reserve Champion Flower Exhibitor at the 4-H Spring Garden and Food Fare. At the Leavenworth County Fair, VanTuyl also received a blue ribbon in 4-H Aerospace, Stage 3, Rocket from a kit.

Because of a reporter's error, information about the cost-benefit analysis for Right Choice Pharmacy in last week's edition of The Mirror was inaccurate.
The portion of the analysis that was used centered on a 10-year projection. The Tonganoxie City Council agreed to give a property tax break over four years: 80 percent the first year; 60 percent the second year; 40 percent the third year; and 20 percent the fourth year.

Arts center offers classes this month
Two classes begin later this month at the Carnegie Arts Center in Leavenworth.
A workshop on silkpainting will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29, and Kindermusik-Village will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursdays, from Sept. 27 through Nov. 15.
