City council delays action on dispute over building

By Staff | Aug 13, 2003

An ongoing disagreement between Mike Drozinski and Steve Stein will be discussed at the next council meeting.

Both parties were at Monday’s meeting to discuss Stein’s property in the 600 block of Yoeke Street, but the council didn’t want to take any action because city attorney Mike Crow was absent.

Mike Drozinski addressed the council Monday about what he viewed as building code violations near his residence.

Drozinski said Stein’s building permit has expired and the city should take action. In November, the city council gave Stein six months during which to improve his property.

In November, Drozinski first came to the council citing problems with Stein’s property in the 600 block of Yoeke.

At that time, Stein explained his building plans and the council gave him six months to improve his property.

But on Monday, Stein brought in a building permit from city inspector Tim Pinnick that was for a year, not six months.

“I have a legal document that says I have 12 months,” Stein said.

Stein then left council chambers, saying, “I’ve got things to do.”
