Obituary: Donald Ray Kraus

1935-2003

Services for Donald Ray Kraus, 68, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie.

Mr. Kraus died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Leavenworth, the son of John and Lillian (Mason) Kraus.

He was a retired inspector for General Motors in Kansas City, Mo. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Henri Masonic Lodge 190 AF&AM; a member of the fire department; and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Tonganoxie.

He married Carolyn J. Coffman on Nov. 26, 1954, in Tonganoxie. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Lee Kraus, Eudora; one daughter, Vickie Biby, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Eugene Kraus, Boliver, Mo., Roy Kraus, Paola, and Carl Kraus, Osceola, Mo.; one sister, Mildred Ruff, Tonganoxie; and four grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building Fund, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, Box 993, Tonganoxie, 66086.
