Athletes fill 17 all-KVL honors

November 19, 2003

With 17 honorees dotting the all-Kaw Valley League honors in four sports, the fall season has been a successful one for Tonganoxie athletics.
"It's crazy how much the opposing coaches think of your players when you're winning," THS athletics director Brandon Parker said.
The football team finished at 8-2, volleyball was 28-8, cross country placed third at regionals and the soccer team was 7-9-1.
Football garnered 10 selections, volleyball had four, cross country two and soccer one.
Parker thought the soccer team could have landed more on its all-league list.
"They lost 1-0 to the state runner-up in 4A and 1-0 to the third-place team in 5A," Parker said, referring to De Soto and Mill Valley respectively. "So I'm surprised they didn't get some recognition."
