First-graders share Thanksgiving recipes

Editor's note: These first-graders in Linda Vernon's class at Tonganoxie Elementary School were kind enough to share their recipes for pumpkin pie, a favorite Thanksgiving dessert.

Get the bowl and put the milk in the bowl. Put it in the oven. Then put the bowl into the microwave. Let it cool off.

You would chop the pumpkin up and then you could put it in the microwave. Then you put some milk in it. Then you put some more stuff to go with it like some whipped cream or something. Then you have to put it in the oven for like two minutes. Then when you take it out, it will be a pie.

First you like buy a pumpkin. Then you chop it up. Take a pan and put some frosting on it when you're done. Put it in the oven and then you've got a pumpkin pie.
