THS volleyball player set for all-star match

Tonganoxie senior Katie Jeannin will have one more match in her prep career.

A setter last fall on Tonganoxie's substate runner-up team, Jeannin was selected to play in the Northeast Kansas All-star Volleyball Match on April 18 in Allen Field House on the campus of Highland Community College.

The match will begin at 2 p.m. with all-star girls and boys games being played at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively.

Jeannin was an all-Kaw Valley League selection and an all-area pick in the Lawrence Journal-World.

Assigned to Team Blue, 11 other area standouts will be on the team: Jenna Farwell, Bern; Ana Noe, Wetmore; Angie Stewart, Highland; Kari Taylor, Wathena; Jenna Hewitt, Silver Lake; Ashley Aull, Lansing; Ashley Reider, Lansing; Julie Sudbeck, Baileyville B&B; Kylie Zibell, Holton; Jessica Bruning, Horton; and Jeni Fee, Hiawatha.

Troy coach Stacey Khant will coach Team Blue.

Members of Team Gold will be: Amber Hall, Elwood; Mindy Krohn, Rock Creek; Chelsi Thornburgh, Osage City; Jenny Tanking, Jackson Heights; Krista Schmitz, Baileyville B&B; Nikki Baker, Atchison County; Lacey Juneman, Hanover; Ali Rumbaugh, Sabetha; Bailey Bunck, Horton; Dvona Williams, Lansing; Kyndle Chandler, Hiawatha; and Alison Hecht, Bern.

Jessica Koch, coach at Baileyville B&B, will lead Team Gold.
