Obituary: K Rondell Cooper

Services for K. Rondell Cooper, 74, Tonganoxie, were Monday, May 17, 2004, at West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie. Burial was on Tuesday in the Palco Cemetery in Palco.

Mr. Cooper died last Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Chanute, the son of Kenneth G. and Ada Cooper.

He was an electronic engineer for WOI TV at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, for 30 years before he retired in 1983. He moved to the Tonganoxie area in 1989. He was a member of West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie, where he had served as a trustee for many years.

His first wife, Marian Sutor Cooper, died in 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Heald Cooper, of the home; two sons, James Leon Cooper, Ames, Iowa, and Kenneth J. Kolb, Watertown, Minn.; a daughter, Linda Sue Rathje of the Ukraine; his mother, Ada Cooper, also of the home; a brother Jeral G. Cooper, Tonganoxie; a sister, Carol F. Brungardt, Bella Vista, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the West Haven church building fund.

Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs, handled arrangements.
