By Shawn Linenberger - | Apr 6, 2005

McLouth needed an extra inning against Oskaloosa on Monday, but the MHS softball team remained perfect on the season with a 3-1 victory in eight innings.

McLouth scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth and swept Oskaloosa. MHS also won the first game, 4-2, and now is 4-0 on the season.

In the first game, Samantha Farris pitched three innings, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out four Oskaloosa batters.

Emily Nitzsche pitched four innings of relief. She allowed one hit, three walks and struck out four.

In the second game, MHS pitcher Leigh Anna Thompson registered six strikeouts in the first game in four innings of work.

Ashley Alloway pitched the remaining four innings. She gave up one hit.

McLouth will play Thursday at home against Pleasant Ridge. The Bulldogs then will travel Friday to Effingham to play Atchison County.

The game originally was scheduled last week, but was postponed because of rain. Games begin at 4:30 p.m. both nights.
