Obituary: Ronald A. Grey Sr.

Services for Ronald A. Grey Sr., 73, Kansas City, Kan., were Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Tonganoxie. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, also in Tonganoxie.

Mr. Grey, a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at his home. He was born March 15, 1932, in Kansas City, Kan.

He owned and operated “Homes by Grey” which built many residences in the Kansas City area. He owned “Sport of Kings” retail horse apparel and tack store. He owned and raced several horses at places such as Ruidoso Downs, N.M., and Grand Island, Neb. Mr. Grey also owned and ran a horse-breeding farm named “Native Acres,” where he stood famous sires such as Bull Eagle, Native Orphan and Zayer Shane.

Mr. Grey was past master of Henri Masonic Lodge 190 A.F. & A.M., a member of Rinda Chapter 82, Order of the Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church, all of Tonganoxie.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Betty (McMillon) Grey, of the home; four sons, Ron Grey Jr., Leavenworth, Lance Grey, Gravois Mills, Mo., Mike Grey, Bonner Springs, and Jimmy Creten, Tonganoxie; a daughter, Jamie Clark, Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Jerry Grey, Shawnee, and Claude Grey, Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the United Methodist Church for world service or Kansas City Hospice, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
