Obituary: Wanda Nell Bruggeman
Services for Wanda Nell Bruggeman, 68, Sabetha, were Thursday, April 21, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Sabetha. Inurnment will be at a later date in Albany Cemetery north of Sabetha.
Mrs. Bruggeman died April 18, 2005, at her home. She was born May 21, 1936, the daughter of Theodore Davis and Marion Sorensen Davis in Lawrence.
She grew up in Tonganoxie on her parents' dairy farm and was active in 4-H in Leavenworth County. In 1954, she graduated from Tonganoxie High School and in 1957 from St. Luke's Nursing School in Kansas City, Mo.
On Jan. 26, 1958, she married Robert Gene Bruggeman in Tonganoxie. They moved to Sabetha in 1959, where she worked at Sabetha Community Hospital and Clinic. Mrs. Bruggeman was the USD 441 school nurse for 29 years. After her retirement, she volunteered for seven years at the Sabetha Community Preschool. As she was growing up, she attended Tonganoxie Friends Church, and in Sabetha she attended the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, R. Christian Bruggeman, Kansas City, Mo., and Craig Bruggeman, Sabetha; a brother, Ted C. Davis Jr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Maridel Wittmer, Sabetha; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church or Sabetha Community Preschool, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary Chapel, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, 66534.
