It always amazes me how talented our local youths are. Last week, the Tonganoxie High School vocal music department sponsored its fourth annual Madrigal Feaste. Each year, the medieval-style dinner and musical entertainment is an extraordinary event, especially when considering it’s put on by a small-town high school music department.
Couple hope to breathe new life into former school

In its first century, it was a one-room school house, and later an Episcopal church. After a fire all but destroyed the building in the early 1970s, it was used as a barn. But soon the stone landmark at the corner of 198th and Evans Road will take on a new life.
Mother cooks up new way to thank teachers

A Tonganoxie parent found an unusual way to send Christmas cheer to teachers and staff at Tonganoxie Elementary School. Amy Lewis prepared a spread of homemade lasagne, salad, rolls and brownies and served the meal to the entire school staff.
