Obituary: David Elden Jackson
Services for David Elden Jackson, 83, Tonganoxie, were Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Jackson died Dec. 20, 2005, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Graham County, the son of David Edward and Viola Mae (Bass) Jackson.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart citation for his wounds. After 40 years, he retired as a machine operator and mechanic for Simmons Mattress Co. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 5851 and Bethel Presbyterian Church, both in Kansas City, Kan.
On Nov. 9, 1944, he married Doris Fountain in Hill City. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Bruce and Craig, both of Tonganoxie; two daughters, Ruth Jackson, Tonganoxie, and Kathleen Trisler, Coffeyville; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church, sent in care of Quisenberry Funeral Home, Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
