McLouth still searching for first victories of season
McLouth High basketball teams will hit the road Friday to play Pleasant Ridge near Easton.
Both teams likely will be searching for the first victories of the season.
The squads both were 0-11 heading into Tuesday's road trip to Wathena.
The McLouth girls looked to snap their losing streak last week at the Jefferson County North Tournament, but the Bulldogs couldn't come out of the tourney with a victory. As for the boys, they lost to St. Mary's Academy on the road, 73-57, on Friday.
Both teams will continue their road trips Tuesday at Troy, but will be back home Feb. 11 against Doniphan West. That game also is King and Queen of Courts night at McLouth High.
After that game, the Bulldogs have just a few games left until substate begins. Feb. 15, the teams play at home against Jefferson County North, Feb. 18 they play at Cair Paravel in Topeka, Feb. 22 the Bulldogs play at home against Jackson Heights, and on Feb. 25, MHS finishes out the regular season against Kansas City Christian in Prairie Village.
The teams then will compete in Class 3A substate action at Wellsville beginning Feb. 28.
Teams also in the substate are Mission Valley, Oskaloosa, Osage City, Pomona, Kansas City Christian, Maranatha Academy (Shawnee) and Wellsville.
