Police searching for suspects involved in robbery

By Shawn Linenberger - | Jan 17, 2005

Tonganoxie police are searching for three men in connection with the apparent robbery of a pizza deliveryman.

A 27-year-old pizza delivery man for Gambino’s Pizza, 420 Stone Creek Drive, told police three men pulled him from his vehicle about 7 p.m. Saturday and took $50 in cash and five checks.

The delivery man, who is from Tonganoxie, was in his first day on the job when the men pulled him from his vehicle and struck him twice in the head — once above the eye and again in the back of the head.

Police are looking for the three men who were in a four-door, light-colored Honda Accord with dark primer-type paint on the passenger-side fender.

Officer Billy Adcox said police also are asking the driver of a silver/gray Jeep Cherokee who pulled into the strip mall just in front of the Honda to come forward with any eyewitness information. According to surveillance video, the two vehicles pulled into the parking lot about the same time.

Anyone with information regarding the incident may call the police department at (913) 845-2311.
