Obituary: Dorothy Colt
Services for Dorothy Colt, 77, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. today, July 13, 2005, at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Roy Ontiveros officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Colt died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Cushing Hospital, Leavenworth. She was born March 6, 1928, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Walter and Dora Corriston Hamler.
She worked at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Medical Center for a time and later for the finance department at Fort Leavenworth. She retired in 1988.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Business Women's Association and AARP.
She was married for 14 years to John Colt Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori Jewell, Tonganoxie, and Diane "Dee-Dee" Seber, Leavenworth; a son, John Colt Jr., Cancun, Mexico; a brother, Ed Hamler, Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Walter David Colt, died in 1991.
Following services at the cemetery, family and friends will gather in the community room on the lower level of the funeral home, 4801 10th Ave., Leavenworth.
