Obituary: Minnie Marie Farmer

1916-2005

A memorial service for former Tonganoxie resident Minnie Marie (Stumbaugh-Cooke) Farmer, 89, Sabetha, will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 2, 2005, at Sabetha Manor, 1441 Oregon St., Sabetha. Private burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mrs. Farmer died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Sabetha Manor, Sabetha. She was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Greyhorse, Okla., the daughter of Andrew and Clara (Darnell) Stumbaugh.

She was a 1934 graduate of McLouth High School and had moved to Sabetha in 1975. She married George E. Cooke on Aug. 5, 1937, in Oskaloosa. He died on Dec. 21, 1965, and a son Richard R. Cooke, died on July 27, 1966. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, Mason Farmer, of Shawnee Mission.

Survivors included a son, Gary Cooke, Sabetha; a daughter, Barbara Boston, Cave Creek, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, handled arrangements.
