Obituary: Bonnidell Herring Senn
Services for Bonnidell Herring Senn, 81, rural Valley Falls, were Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka. Burial was in Valley Falls Cemetery.
Mrs. Senn died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at LinnWood Home Plus, Valley Falls, where she had lived since March. She was born in Homewood, in Franklin County, on Oct. 12, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Kate Wemmer Herring.
She lived with her family in Franklin County, eastern Colorado and Jefferson County. She started school in eastern Colorado, then attended school at Ozawkie, Williamsburg and Rock Creek, graduating from Rock Creek High School in 1942.
During World War II, she worked for Cessna Aircraft Company in Wichita and in Oakland, Calif., repairing war-damaged airplanes. Then she returned to work on the family farm in rural Ozawkie.
She married Arnold Senn on Jan. 29, 1947, in Topeka. They lived south of Valley Falls their entire married life, farming and raising cattle. He died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Senn, Denison; a daughter, Teresa Clarkson, Tonganoxie; two sisters, Letha Rise, Topeka, and Maryetta Teaford, Valley Falls; a brother, Eugene Herring, Ozawkie; four grandchildren; five stepgrandsons; and 11 great-grandchildren.
