Obituary: Marlin M. “Murphy” VanDruff

Graveside services for Marlin M. “Murphy” VanDruff, 75, McLouth, will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 15, at McLouth Cemetery, McLouth.

Mr. VanDruff died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his home. He was born July 29, 1930, in McLouth, the son of Grover and Lila (Shrader) VanDruff.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter. He was a retired postal worker and school bus driver. He married Jo Ann (Yoakum) Gibson in 1976 in McLouth. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Tim and Dale VanDruff, both of Lawrence; three stepsons, Tim Gibson and Al Gibson, both of Lawrence, Chuck Gibson, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Lisa VanDruff, Lawrence, and Cayla VanDruff, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Cindy Hackathorn, Oskaloosa; two brothers, David VanDruff, Basehor, and Larry VanDruff, Tonganoxie; a sister, Esther McAfee, Caney; and 11 grandchildren.
