Damien L. Grammer

Services for Damien L. Grammer, 18, McLouth, were Saturday, June 10, 2006, at McLouth Nazarene Church. Burial was in McLouth Cemetery.

He died last Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Kansas University Hospital, Kansas City, Kan. He was born Oct. 23, 1987, in Lawrence, the son of Wayne A. and LeAnna M. (Black) Grammer. He had been a McLouth resident for the last nine years, when his family moved there from Baldwin. He was a 2006 graduate of McLouth High School, where he played football his sophomore and junior years.

He worked for Tonganoxie Conoco for a few months earlier this year, and had been inducted into the U.S. Army. He was due to ship out Monday. He enjoyed playing paintball, lifting weights and drawing blueprints and other facets of technical drafting.

Survivors include his parents, of the home; a sister, Ashley Grammer, of the home; and his grandparents, Larry Black and Melva Black, Wichita, and Wilma Patterson, Lawrence.

Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan., handled arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions to the burial fund, sent in care of Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan., 66112.
