Obituary: Esther Clair Millison
Private services were planned for Esther Claire Millison, 79, Basehor. Burial was planned in Prairie View Cemetery near Alta Vista.
Mrs. Millison died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center. She was born June 20, 1927, in Wabaunsee County, the daughter of Gus and Dorothy (Dutton) Pape.
In 1953, she moved with her family to Basehor, where she brought a personal touch to her job in the elementary school kitchen that included such treats as hand-decorated Christmas cookies and occasional homemade doughnuts. Mrs. Millison later worked as a custodian at the upper elementary school and later provided child care from her home. She also worked for the Mussett family at Basehor View Farm Dairy and decorated many wedding cakes for Basehor residents. She also was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Millison, in 1991; two sons, Charles Millison Jr. in 1949 and Stanley Jay Millison in 1984; and a grandson and great-grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lewis, Basehor, Anna Dornbrack, Tonganoxie; two sons, Eric Millison, Tonganoxie, and Stephen Millison, Basehor; two brothers, Carol Pape, Council Grove, and Gerald Pape, Tonganoxie; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
