Raymond E. Dodd
Services for Raymond E. Dodd, 75, Easton, will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 4, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Leavenworth. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Dodd died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, in a tractor accident in rural Leavenworth County. A news story about the accident appears on page 3A.
He was born May 13, 1931, in Leavenworth, the son of Theodore and Anna (Finneran) Dodd. He grew up in Leavenworth County and attended Sacred Heart and Bell grade schools and was active in Bell 4-H Club.
He worked at Leavenworth Steel until the facility closed. He then worked for Thompson Concrete until he retired in 1996.
Mr. Dodd was a member of the Eagles Club. He loved horseback riding and he and his wife, Judy, participated in many trail rides in southern Missouri and Arkansas, as members of the Cavalcade Club. They were regular attendees Monday evenings at the Campbell Sale Barn in Linwood.
He married Laura Myrtle Holthusen on Oct. 16, 1954. She died in 1993. He married Judy Lynn McGraw on March 12, 1994, in Leavenworth. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Mark Dodd; two daughters, Roxann Keil, Leavenworth, and Sharon Dodd Campbell, Warsaw, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Lynn Cox, Leavenworth; a stepson, Mike McGraw, Colorado; five sisters, Florence Haling, Jeanette Zielinski, Margaret Long, Alice Schneider and Delores Urban, all of Leavenworth; a brother, Donald Dodd, Ellsworth; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leavenworth County 4-H Foundation, sent in care of Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth 66048.
