Gail White of Mt. Vernon, Mo., and Faye Cleavinger visited Bid Sheppard last Wednesday.

Charles and Connie Sheppard of Lenexa visited her last Wednesday.

The Jaunty Jarbalonians chapter of the Red Hat Society met at the Queen’s Pantry and Tea Room on Oct. 14. Those attending were Bonny Barnett, Linda Barry, Sarah Conway, Connie Barnett, Jane Turner and Thamar Barnett. Their next get-together will be Nov. 10 with a Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Bonny Barnett in Leavenworth.

There will be a work day at Jarbalo United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Nov. 4.

Phil and Betty Clark went Oct. 14 to Manhattan to eat out with their son, Rhett Clark, to celebrate his birthday. A 2006 Tonganoxie High School graduate, he is a freshman at Kansas State University.

The Monday Club and Afternoon School Program will start Monday at Jarbalo United Methodist Church. It will be from 3:15 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. It is for children from first grade through the sixth grade.
