On September 17, Bob and Alfreda Ryan attended the Ryan family reunion at the Lansing Community Center. Also attending were their daughters and families, Sue and Derek Ong, and their grandson, Scott, from Ozawkie; Kathel Dungan, of Beeville, Texas; and her two sons, Mike Dungan and his wife Shawlyn;ndhristopher Dungan,nd Jill Braun,f Carterville, Ill.; Anah and Dwayne Mance, and their children Megan, Sarajo and Brandon, his wife, Bridget, and their infant daughter, Lauren, from Easton. All of Bob's seven first cousins were present, and 19 out of 27 of the next generation of cousins were present with their families, for a total of 110. Four generations were represented.
Weekend guests of Bob and Alfreda Ryan were their daughter, Kathel, and her sons and daughter-in-law. Saturday night, they all went to the Ongs to celebrate Scottie's third birthday with homemade ice cream and cake.
Stanwood Friends Church is celebrating "123 Years of Worship, Praise, Service, and Fellowship" with its annual homecoming, set for Saturday and Sunday. Everyone who has shared the connection to Stanwoods invited to bring your family and friends to worship and share special memories of Stanwood. The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday evening with ance cream social. On Sunday, Sunday School is at0 a.m.; worship at 11a.m., followed by a potluck dinner. Please share your special music, old photos, and stories. A silent auction will be held to help benefit youth activities. Many hand-crafted, canned, and home-baked items will be available.

Come join the fun and participate in "Parents As Teachers Playgroups" at the McLouth Community Center/Library. Here's the schedule for October: "Teddy Bear Picnic" --10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Oct. 2, Oct. 9 and Oct. 23; and a costume party, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. Parents As Teachers is a fun, free, early learning program for parents of children prenatal through 3 years, sponsored by McLouth school district and the Kansas State Department of Education. "Celebrate Recovery," a program dedicated to helping those in need of recovery from drugs, alcohol, gambling, eating disorders, etc., meets every Thursday night at 6:30 p.m., in the basement of McLouth Church of the Nazarene.
